Abstract

The aim of this work is to test the use of a process analysis technology based on Bluetooth Low Energy in an industrial test environment and to analyse possible influencing parameters on the results. Two typical intralogistics resources were selected for the study. On the one hand, experiments were carried out with an automated guided vehicle and on the other hand with people in an assembly system with specific logistical tasks. The measured signal strength for localisation was identified as a measure for the assessment. By accessing the raw data using an open source data analysis tool (Knime), it was possible to identify factors such as the orientation and positioning of the transmitters, interference variables in the environment such as other machines and equipment, as well as the positioning of the receivers.
